Our Softball program is in the planning stages. The below information will be updated soon. 

Softball is for girls in grades 3-6, with teams made up of grades 3/4 and grades 5/6. Schools may field one or both teams. Forms for the 2019 season are below. If you are interested in being a chair for the 2019 season at the Council Level, please contact us at council@highlinecouncilptsa.org 


Interested in starting a team? 
Step 1) We recommend inquiring with your school community to gauge interest, find volunteer coaches and a chapter committee chair or representative to help facilitate the logistics of the program. Your school will need a coach and some parent helpers for the best experience.

​Step 2) Share this program page with your local chapter chair-person(s) and coaches to get them the necessary forms for registration. Create a custom registration form with your PTA name on it. See samples below.

Step 3) Consider the costs and what to charge the team members. We recommend charging about $50 per child to cover the costs of the program. Individual chapters may decide to cover additional costs for equipment and supplies by requesting grants from your local PTA. 

The fee you charge is required to cover the cost of a numbered t-shirt, insurance purchased through council, scholarships, softball supplies (could include field chalk, first aid kits, balls) and a small ceremony/party. We also encourage creating a certificate or a small token to recognize the girls upon the completion of the program. Each chapter can determine their individual program details, but all must purchase insurance through Highline Council (estimated $125 per team) and all girls must have a numbered t-shirt. If you already have gear, you may not need to ask your PTA for grants or extra supply support this program and your fee may cover t-shirt, insurance and other supplies. 

Step 4) Begin a registration process where you collect money and forms. 

Step 5) Close registration once your team reaches a maximum of 20 girls and connect with council Softball Chair to let them know your PTA is ready to purchase insurance. You'll need to deliver a copy of your roster with names and player numbers to get insurance. 


Step 6) After you connect with the Softball Chair to get approval, an invoice will be issued to your chapter for your insurance payment. Please remit payment to:

Your check must be a PTA check signed by two officers on your PTA and follow best practice per established WASPTA guidelines. The deadline for registration is approaching on March 5, 2018​.


Please share the below information with your entire board and ask your members for support, you will need; a chair, coaches, volunteers for score keeping, snacks, etc. 

Softball Timetable for Spring 2018


Number of teams and age groups for the league will be due March 5, 2018. It is also important that we receive your signed forms regarding HCPTSA agreement, concussion and sudden cardiac arrest - these are available on our website, see link in signature below. Only one agreement signed by chairs and coaches is required by Highline Council PTSA, but you are signing stating it has been shared with all participants. Please send this information to council@highlinecouncilptsa.org Council's softball chair will then contact the district to reserve fields. This message is appreciated as it will aide us in organizing the league and planning the game schedule. Please include contact information for your chair and coaches.

​Insurance payment is due March 9, 2018. If you have a team for both age groups please send $250 to Highline Council PTSA.


Practices begin March 12, 2018 for 3rd/4th grade teams, and continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until April 18, 2018.

Practices begin March 13, 2018 for 5th/6th grade teams, and continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays until April 19, 2018.


Rosters for all teams including student names and number (worn on shirt/jersey) is due by April 20, 2018.

Games will begin the week of April 23, 2018. Practices will become once a week with 3rd/4th grade games on Wednesdays and 5th/6th grade games on Thursdays.

The season will end the week of May 21, 2018, with final games on May 23rd and 24th

Celebration events to follow at your own scheduling.

Practices will begin the week of March 12, 2018. We are proposing 3rd/4th grade teams practice on Monday and Wednesday, while 5th/6th grade teams practice on Tuesday and Thursday. IF this is an issue for coaches and/or participants please contact Council as soon as possible to check on schedule changes.

Each team will need insurance, the fee this year is $125. This coverage includes Medical and Liability at a $250 deduction and meets our district's requirements for field use while protecting your organization from costs in case of injury. The fee includes the coverage premium and small administration charge. Your insurance payment will be due no later than March 9, 2018. You will receive your policy documents by email as soon as payment has arrived. We're encouraging everyone to consider adding scholarship money to their budgets and charging $40-$50 dollars this year to cover the increase in costs (insurance, shirts, equipment, etc.). Please do not hesitate to contact Our Chair TBD with questions and concerns by email at TBD@gmail.com or by phone (206) TBD-0000.
